Chris Brown had it tough in the last two years. He lost a lot of fans, respect and support for mainly two reasons: The first reason was because of what happened between him and Rihanna, and the second reason was because of his lackluster album “Graffiti” so now, with his new album, “F.A.M.E”, can he redeem his music, and more importantly redeem his own personal image?

Normally when artists try redeem themselves they use either one of two techniques, one technique is to make music that’s styled like the music they made before, to remind their fans why they liked that artist in the first place, or they use the other technique, which is when the artist tries something really different to show everyone who listened to the artists that all they need is talent to bring the fans back, but nobody, I mean nobody tried to redeem themselves by making music so popular that people actually started showing a lot of hate on it, is that a good thing? No, it’s not, but let’s see how will this album do anyway.

Based on what I heard from the album, the album is mainly divided into two parts. The first part of the album is the more common tracks on the album, which was unfortionetly the really poppy type of songs, stuff that mostly artists like Justin Biber do, the only difference is that the styles was a bit more explicit on this album, and it did shine a bit on one or two tracks. Then came the other side of the album, which was mainly most of the club bangers, and those tracks where the album’s real highlights, I mean, the album wasn’t even a good album, or even a mediocre album, but the few good club bangers here where a better side here, they could have made this album at the very least passable.

The more poppy tracks here where on the more common side of the album, and as I mentioned that side of the album was mostly a flop, but that side of the album did have one track I enjoyed a bit though. The one track that I enjoyed on this part of the album was “Deuces” and the reason why I thought that track was good was beacuse, true, it really poppy, but at the same time it does have that rap influenced feeling, and Tyga had  a good verse here. Other than that one song there isn’t much to say aside from calling Chris a more explicit version of Jusin Biber with a deeper voice, which is shone in some of the most notable tracks out of these disasters, which where “Up 2 You”, “No Bullshit”,  the sequel to Justin Biber’s “Baby”, which is called “Wet The Bed” which felt like what would happen after Baby, which is sex, especially due to if featuring Ludacris,  and then the album’s biggest abomination, which features the beaver himself called “Next 2 You” and a lot more Biber styled tracks made this album more of a disaster than a chance of redemption.

At the other hand, the album did have club bangers, you know, the songs that seem to be really famous on this album, and honestly, the result here was a bit mixed. The album did have some good club-banging tracks like “Boom” which featured Wiz Khalifa, “Look At Me Now” which could have been a mediocre track, but what saved the song and made it good was the fact that it was practically owned by Busta Rhymes’ lightning fast verse, with a little extra help from Lil Wayne, “Love The Girls” which was the best on the album, it was another club banger, but had a more west coast hip-hop influenced feel, which was complimented by a short, but good verse by Game, “Oh My Love” had a real hardcore club feel, but It wasn’t anything special, “Beautiful People” was not a bad track, but it can easily be skipped. Then the album’s worst track “Yeah 3x” which was a really bad song because it sounded a lot like everything else on the radio, Autotune, a poor and overused beat, and lyrics that where too direct.

Overall, “F.A.M.E” could have been a much better album than it really was if it wasn’t for the many, overflown Biber style poppy tracks. I’m not saying that it could have been a great album, but it could have been at the very least decent, but due to the really poppy tracks, the album was really nothing. The album was overall not a good attempt for redemption in my opinion, despite having some good tracks and some good factors, the negatives on the album are far too many. Now, the question is, will Chris be given another chance of redemption? Maybe, depending on what he does on his next album.
